The Apprenticeship Training Portal of India, managed by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, is the central platform for apprenticeship opportunities. Apprenticeship is a hands-on training program where individuals learn a trade by working alongside skilled professionals. It combines on-the-job training with theoretical instruction, providing practical skills and a stipend. The program is governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961.

For trades like Stenographer (Hindi) and Stenographer (English), apprenticeships are offered by various government and private organizations. These programs typically involve a training period of 12 to 15 months, which includes both basic training and on-the-job training. The training covers skills such as shorthand, typing, and other secretarial practices.

COPA, which stands for Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, is another popular trade under the apprenticeship scheme. The COPA apprenticeship focuses on computer-related skills, including office automation, programming, and data management. These apprenticeships are often offered by a wide range of establishments and provide valuable experience in the IT sector.
