Code of Conduct
The student code of conduct, as per various UGC guidelines, is primarily focused on three core areas: academic integrity, prevention of ragging, and general campus discipline.
Academic Integrity:
* Students must maintain academic honesty and avoid plagiarism in all their work, including research and assignments.
* They are expected to be truthful about their qualifications and credentials.
Anti-Ragging Regulations:
* The UGC has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards ragging, as outlined in its "UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009."
* Ragging is defined as any act that causes annoyance, hardship, psychological harm, or raises fear in a student, and it is considered a cognizable offense. This includes physical abuse, verbal abuse (spoken or written), and any other form of mental or physical torment.
* Students and their parents are required to submit an online undertaking to abide by these anti-ragging rules at the time of admission.
General Campus Discipline:
* Students are expected to conduct themselves in a responsible and dignified manner both on and off campus.
* They must respect the rights and dignity of others, including fellow students, faculty, and staff.
* Any form of discrimination based on caste, religion, gender, or other characteristics is strictly prohibited.
* Students are prohibited from damaging college property or the property of others.
* Unauthorized use of institute facilities or equipment is not allowed.
* Students must not engage in disorderly conduct, lewd behavior, or create a public nuisance.
